The Challenge
Soundzipper was engaged to design two adjacent karaoke rooms in Mercure Maldives Kooddoo Resort, a 4-star hotel on Kooddoo island in the Maldives. The karaoke rooms are on the ground floor, next to one of the dining areas of the main restaurant.
The Design
TOPAKUSTIK 14/2M planks are installed on the walls. These are timber acoustic panels that absorb sound and reduce reverberation time. The two rooms also have an acoustic ceiling. Between the two karaoke rooms, there is a full height acoustic partition wall with a damping membrane to prevent sound transmission.
