Soundzipper technologies

Sound flow

A software for simulation of acoustic absorber design e.g. bass traps, fabric absorber panels, and perforated absorbers.

The NTi Sound level Meter

  • - Measures sound pressure levels (SPL)
  • - Measures reverberation time (RT 60) or reverberation quality of a room

This meter calculates the NC ratings and the STC ratings

NTi Dodecahedron DS2 Speaker Set

An omnidirectional speaker is used to activate all room surfaces to obtain the most accurate testing conditions. The optimized frequency response ensures precise measurements in accordance with the ISO 16283 and ISO 3382 standards.

Sketchup, Rhino and CAD

Our consultation team uses a mix of SketchUp, Rhino and CAD to show clients the layout of the new space. Utilizing these helps provide a level of discussion between relevant parties which include typical section drawings and shop drawings necessary for the task to be carried out.

Insul

What is INSUL?

INSUL allows the customer to get an accurate and cost efficient method to receive the acoustic quality they deserve. With this, we are able to recommend solutions to ensure optimal sound isolation for walls, ceilings, roofs, glass glazing and floors.

Why do we use INSUL?

INSUL is necessary to effectively understand how effective an existing partition works. With its aid, we are able to identify the possible threats of isolation. For instance, we use this to measure if a conversation is audible and distinct from one room to another; we do this in resorts, offices, F&B establishments, and classrooms. Not only that, it can also easily calculate the thickness of walls and partitions for auditoriums, churches, governmental and institutional locations–letting us work faster and more accurately. To top it off, INSUL can also calculate how effective a partition sound isolation works.

How does INSUL work?

It can accurately calculate data for the partition and its intention. With the software, we can show customers how different partitions may be used for different purposes (e.g how a partition for speech in a meeting room and a partition for instruments in a music room can vary in characteristics).

EASE

What is EASE?

EASE is an acoustic and auralization software; it is also a system design platform that provides:

  • ► A detailed layout of a room,
  • ► A simulation of the acoustics and the sound system performance
  • ► A summary of analytical data to accurately pin-point areas of concern.
EASE helps our client to understand
  • 1. How spaces will sound like before and after treatment
  • 2. Where to properly position the loudspeaker/ hi-fi system
  • 3. How the audience and listeners will perceive the sound source
  • 4. How the volume is perceived at different positions in the room
How does EASE solve acoustic problems?

EASE maps out precise areas of concern in order to predict where absorption, diffusion, or reflection is required.

What else can EASE do?

EASE also calculates

  • ► Reverberation time
  • ► Speech transmission index - Sound pressure level
  • ► Room impulse parameters
How do customers benefit?

During the presentation and proposal stage, our consultants will discuss relevant data and insights regarding the acoustics of the room. The clients will be provided with a preview of how the future space will sound like. They will also be properly briefed about the necessary changes for each phase of construction.

SOUNDFLOW

What is Soundflow?

Software for simulation of acoustic absorber design e.g. bass traps, fabric absorber panels, and perforated absorbers.

What does Soundflow do?

Soundflow is especially useful in scenarios that involve:

  • 1. Prefabricated absorbers that do not target the key room modes in your studio
  • 2. Clients who wish to have a certain acoustic finish but want a different acoustic performance
  • 3. Clients inquire about the NRC and/or absorption coefficients of customized acoustic materials
How will this help clients?
  • 1. This software can design the most optimum acoustic absorbers that fit all types of room sizes; this includes tuned bass traps, targeted problem frequency absorbers, and generic broadband absorbers.
  • 2. Through Soundflow, clients are given a clear understanding of how different materials will affect their desired space, as well as an idea of the potential their space can achieve.

THE NTI SOUND LEVEL 1 METER

What does it do?
  • ► Measures sound pressure levels (SPL)
  • ► Measures reverberation time (RT 60) or quality of a room.

It calculates the NC and STC ratings. Our NTi XL2 Sound Level Meter and M2230 microphone is Class 1 certified and meets the requirements of IEC 61672-1:2002 or an equivalent such as BS EN 61672-1:2003. It has lower tolerances in discrepant readings with the reference frequency of 1 kHz; Class 1’s tolerance limits are +/- 1.9dB while Class 2’s are +/- 2.2dB.

Tapping Machine

Our company employs the Delta Ohm HD 2040 Tapping Machine–a normalized impact noise generator–to test for impact noise on the floor. Whether it be a basketball court, bass drums, or even the footsteps on the floor–it is the perfect tool. With the machine, we can measure the impact insulation class (IIC); the higher the class the better it is. This is in accordance to ISO 140-6, 140-7, 140-8 and ASTM E492 and E1007.

REFLEX

What does it do?

We employ Reflex in cases where clients need customized diffusers or when they are unsure of the design works. Furthermore, Reflex enables us to estimate the diffusion and scattering coefficients of any customized diffuser.

Solution

1. Use Reflex to show clients how a diffuser can aid in eliminating echo in a space.
