Our Approach

Soundzipper provides a comprehensive range of acoustic services – acoustic measurements, soundproofing, auralizations, design of acoustic spaces and more.
Although individual projects differ, the typical process looks like this – the Soundzipper approach.

TAKE A LOOK AT OUR APPROACH IN ACTION

Step 1 of 4

Acoustic pre-assessment

What You Get

Basic Assessment Report

A concise report about the acoustic qualities of your space, including:

  • Structural and material characteristics of walls and objects within the space;
  • Noise profiles;
  • Graphical analyses: spectrographs, impulse response graphs and more;
  • Summary of acoustic problems and recommended treatments.
What happens in this step?

Our consultants will arrive on-site with the setup necessary to carry out the acoustic or noise assessments.

What is the purpose of this step?

This step is a preliminary survey to gather objective measurements, to understand the scope of the acoustic problem and identify the treatment required.

How long will this step take?

Once you require our services an appointment will be arranged within 1 or 2 weeks. For spaces smaller than 1000 sq ft, all measurements can be taken within 2 hours.

No acoustic treatment will be installed at this stage.

Step 2 of 4

Design Research

What You Get

Detailed Design Proposal

An in-depth acoustic design proposal, based on empirical data gathered in the previous step. This proposal may include:

  • Selection of acoustic materials;
  • Acoustic calculations: absorption coefficients, reverb times and more;
  • Space auralizations;
  • Artist renderings;
  • Shop drawings;
  • Detailed recommendations on soundproofing and other acoustic treatments.
What happens in this step?

Our consultants will work together with your interior designer of choice to come up with a detailed acoustic design plan that blends acoustic treatment with your preferred interior design aesthetic.

What is the purpose of this step?

Acoustic treatment comes in a variety of forms and materials – this step is about figuring out in greater detail what are the options that work best for your space both visually and aurally.

Similar to the idea of visualization, space auralization allows you to hear the expected result from the proposed acoustic treatments.

How long will this step take?

This will vary depending on the communication involved and any changes required to the design plan.

Step 3 of 4

Design Implementation

What You Get

Transformed Acoustic Space

  • This is where the magic happens to turn your dream designs into reality.
What happens in this step?

Although Soundzipper does not provide any construction services, we can work with your preferred contractor, to help you realise your projects.

Throughout the construction phase, we will provide advice as needed.

what is the purpose of this step?

To implement the designs from the previous step.

How long will this step take?

The timeline for this step is not set by Soundzipper, and depends on the contractor that you are working with.

Step 4 of 4

Acoustic Verification

What You Get

Acoustic Verification Report

An assessment that includes:

  • Before and after acoustic analysis;
  • Graphical analyses: spectrographs, impulse response graphs and more;
  • Quality assurance test results.
What happens in this step?

Our consultants will arrive on-site with the setup necessary to carry out acoustic validation and performance evaluation.

What is the purpose of this step?

Acoustic verification is about measuring the results of acoustic works in an objective way. We ensure that designs are implemented to our rigorous standards, so that you can experience your enhanced acoustic space as intended.

How long will this step take?

For smaller spaces, verifying the efficacy of the acoustic treatments will take around 2 hours.

A report will be delivered to you 1 week after.
