The Challenge

Soundzipper was hired by KPF architects to provide acoustic analysis and materials to compliment the architect’s design. KPF wanted to use Topakustik acoustic ceiling products to create a high-quality, quiet and conducive working environment for the Estee Lauder Office at Duo Towers in Singapore.

The Analysis

One of the main challenges was that each of the brand hubs in Estee Lauder was to have a small collaboration space where a diamond shaped Topakustik Topperfo Clou ceiling was to be installed. The tessellation design of the micro-perforated ceiling panels with minimised joints was handled by our expert designers in Topakustik Switzerland.

The Design

A customised substructure system was prefabricated, which allowed the assembling of the ceiling with Lego-like simplicity and minimised the possibility of installation errors. Each of the brand hubs also featured collaboration areas where a different coloured Topperfo Micro ceiling was installed. Topakustik 9/2M grooved panelling was utilised for the lobby areas while a darker hued version of Topakustik 9/2M was used for a client dining area. Overall, 13 different colours were used for the Topakustik systems, each perfectly colour-matched by our team in Switzerland to local Dulux paint codes. Consequently, these installations and design created an aesthetic environment with good acoustic conditions for meetings.

KPF architects was amazed with the products and design and continued to collaborate with us with future projects.
