The Challenge
Sequis Tower is a 42-storey, ultra-modern mixed-use tower in the heart of Jakarta. This client aims to provide world-class facilities for both its tenants and its visitors. Our acoustic consultants were appointed by the client to perform a design review, analyse the original acoustic specifications, provide alternatives and to do final acoustic compliance testing for 10 levels of offices at Sequis Tower Jakarta. The client wanted to ensure speech privacy and good acoustic comfort in each of the offices. A deadline of 3 days was given to conduct all testing.
The Analysis
Soundzipper’s experts conducted acoustic testing for the constructed offices. These tests included:
- Noise Criterion (NC) – background noise level according to ANSI/ASA S12.2-2019
- Reverberation Time (RT60) according to ISO 3382
- Sound Transmission Class (STC) – Sound insulation performance according to ASTM E336
The tests were performed using calibrated sound level meters and an omnidirectional speaker to obtain objective recorded data.
The Results
Our acoustic consultants proactively followed up with the client and with the original acoustic consultant to comprehend the specifications and formulate solutions. Soundzipper developed a detailed test plan, which was approved by the client, and completed the testing during a single, continuous block of time. The client was fully satisfied with our recommendations and our rapid testing methodologies and engaged additional services from us for other spaces such as their auditorium.
